Abiye Kassa, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at George Washington University.
Abiye Kassa, MD completed a pathology residency at Addis Ababa University and worked as an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Gondar University and Debub University in Ethiopia. After immigrating to the United States, he also completed Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Howard University and received Specialty Training in Surgical Pathology working as a junior faculty at the Johns Hopkins University with focus on Breast, Head & Neck, & Genitourinary pathology, as well as Melanoma, Pancreatic, GI, & Thoracic resections, and Frozen Section evaluation. Afterwards, he worked at the Quest Diagnostics Reference Lab in Chantilly, VA.

Kassa's clinical practice focus is to provide diagnostic services in Breast Pathology, Head and Neck Pathology, Genitourinary Pathology, Gynecologic Pathology, and Thoracic Pathology.
