Biography

Dr. Rosseau has been involved in Global Neurosurgery all her career and is a leader in the Global Surgery movement.  She is co-Founder of the Global Alliance for the Prevention of Spina Bifida-F(GAPSBIF), which championed, along with the member states of the World Health Organization (WHO), a 2023 Resolution on folic acid fortification to eliminate Spina Bifida, one of the humanity’s most serious congenital defects.  She is on the Advisory Board of the National Churchill Leadership Center and was invited by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to give the official remarks on Churchill at the U.S. Capitol. She has been the Honored Guest of Neurosurgical Society of Australia, the Brazilian Academy of Neurosurgery and the Neurosurgery Society of India. She is an oral board examiner for the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA). In 2025, she delivered several endowed lectures, including the Charles Plante Lecture at the AANS, the Bulkley-Barry-Cooper Professorial Lecture at King’s Partners  and the  the Hamlyn Keynote at Imperial College, both in  London,  and the Mazama Summit Keynote Address.  She has been honored with the AANS Humanitarian Award in 2021, the CNS Trailblazer's Award in 2023 and will be Honored Guest of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in 2026.She will be the Honored Guest of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in 2026.

Research & Advocacy Efforts

She is the elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the G4 Alliance, the global advocacy organization for surgical, obstetric, trauma and anesthesia care. She has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications and been invited as Visiting Professor at over 20 universities.  She is Global Champions Editor for World Neurosurgery, and Section Editor for Global Neurosurgery for Neurosurgery.    She is one of the core leaders of the Boston Declaration 2025, which is a process and pledges designed to create a unified vision and concrete advances for neurosurgical care worldwide. She is the President-Elect of the International Society for Global Neurosurgery.

For over 15 years, Dr. Rosseau has served on the Executive Committee of the Foundation for International Education in Neurosurgery (FIENS), which provides fellowships, as well as webinars and bootcamps, to international neurosurgery trainees.

Dr. Rosseau is on the Board of Directors of InterSurgeon.  InterSurgeon  operates as a registered charity and is supported by numerous partnerships with nonprofit organizations and surgical institutions. The platform operates on the generosity of donors, supporters, and members, including over 2000 clinicians and 80 organizations from more than 100 countries.

Through these organizations, Dr. Rosseau aims to improve surgical capacity in resource-limited regions by providing training, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities to surgeons and healthcare teams worldwide.

Since 2019, InterSurgeon has operated as a registered charity and is supported by numerous partnerships with nonprofit organizations and surgical institutions. The platform operates on the generosity of donors, supporters, and members, including over 1,100 clinicians and 80 organizations from more than 100 countries.

Through this charitable structure, Dr. Rosseau helps secure funding to support global surgery initiatives and surgical education programs. These programs, which are supported by the broader InterSurgeon community, aim to improve surgical capacity in resource-limited regions by providing training, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities to surgeons and healthcare teams worldwide.

Educational Background & Clinical Training

Dr. Rosseau's fellowship in microvascular and cranial base surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh led to a career in skull base surgery, with a focus on pituitary tumors and microvascular compression syndromes. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Rosseau is deeply invested in neurosurgical education and global surgery initiatives, working to train and mentor surgeons in resource-limited countries to build sustainable surgical systems. Her background allows her to bridge the gap between clinical care and global surgical education, empowering local medical professionals to improve the care available to their communities.
