Biography

Michael Johnson is an assistant professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.  His clinical background includes experience in EMS and emergency medicine with most of his clinical practice in general neurosurgery.

He has extensive educational experience as lecturer and clinical preceptor and has taught at several national conferences on the topic of traumatic brain injury. He was a previous Master Fire Instructor and helped to develop and implement educational programs for responding to hazardous materials incidents for fire departments in the State of Nevada. His academic interests include mentorship of PA students and preparation for clinical practice as well as examining the utility of physician assistants in pre-hospital medicine.
