Biography

Dr. Goldblatt is a retired pathologist from Gainesville, FL, where she lived for thirty-two years before moving to Northern Virginia. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, then enrolled in a five-year Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency and fellowship in Hematopathology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. After her formal training, she worked in private practice where she assumed the role of laboratory medical director at North Florida Regional Medical Center, and chaired the hospital’s cancer committee, overseeing its accredited cancer program by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC). At the time of her retirement from private practice, Dr. Goldblatt continued her work as a CoC site reviewer and pursued a new career as a teacher after repeatedly passing The George Washington University Science and Technology campus in Ashburn and wanting to be a part of that institution.

Dr. Goldblatt is inspired by individuals who enter the field of medicine after initially developing talents that initially took them in other directions. As a self-proclaimed “plugger”, she understands the drive within students who enroll in this program to overcome challenges that they encountered earlier in their education. Outside of GW, she enjoys spending time with her
family, cooking great food, and playing with her two standard poodles.
