Biography

Dr. Radwa Aly, PhD, MSc, ACRP-CPI, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is a clinical research leader and translational scientist with more than 18 years of experience in clinical research, research operations, and the development of clinical research infrastructure.

Her scholarly and research interests focus on translational clinical research, health equity, and improving diversity in clinical research participation, with particular interests in Functional Neurological Disorders, epilepsy, seizure-related care, and patient-centered outcomes. Her doctoral research examined demographic and systemic factors influencing emergency department utilization among individuals presenting with seizures. She has contributed to investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical research as an investigator, sub-investigator, and translational scientist, including research in epilepsy, Functional Neurological Disorders, and myasthenia gravis.

She serves as Director of the Office of Clinical Research at GW, where she provides strategic leadership for clinical research infrastructure and operations across the academic medical enterprise. She is committed to advancing translational research, mentoring research professionals and trainees, and building collaborative research programs that improve patient outcomes and access to evidence-based care.

Dr. Aly holds a PhD in Translational Health Sciences and an MS in Clinical and Translational Research from the George Washington University. She completed a Principal Investigator Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and is an ACRP-Certified Principal Investigator.
