Renee Cordrey has extensive clinical experience in wound care and geriatrics, and has practiced in multiple settings. She is a board-certified wound care specialist (Certified Wound Specialist –CWS, American Board of Wound Management), and is active in her professional societies including the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC). She has served the AAWC as a member of the board of directors for 4 terms and was honored with the Distinguished Member award. She is a frequent presenter at wound care and physical therapy conferences. She is also the chair of the steering committee for Health Volunteers Overseas’ Wound and Lymphedema Program.
Professor Cordrey joined GW in 2009 and her primary teaching areas include the integumentary system and its management, and physical therapy interventions. Her research interests include the psychosocial aspects of wound care, how function and chronic wounds interact, and wellness and prevention in older adults.
