Dr. Skip Gill is a Professor in the GW Doctor of Health Sciences program. Prior to joining the university, Dr. Gill had 30 years of military service in leadership, clinical, and academic roles. These included the Provost (Deputy Commandant) of the U.S. Army Medical Center & School, Dean of the Graduate School, Program Director of the Army-Baylor Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, Program Director of the Army-Baylor Doctor of Science Program in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, PT Clinic Director for the 345th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq, PT Clinic Director at Fort Eustis and Fort Monroe VA, and the 82nd Airborne Division Clinic. He has served on national committees as Chair of the AAOMPT Standards Committee, Program/Site Reviewer for the American Board of Physical Therapy Fellowship and Residency Education, and is currently on the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.
As a scholar, Dr. Gill completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Hospital Spine Biomechanics Lab and has published over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles. His research interests are in spine biomechanics and treatment, manual & manipulative therapy, and osteoarthritis.
