Biography

Stephanie Sharps, MD, FACP is the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences Regional Medical Campus (RMC) at LifeBridge Health at Sinai Hospital. Dean Sharps provides career and academic advising and supports health and wellness initiatives for the RMC students. Dr. Sharps graduated from Duke University Medical School, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at University of Alabama Birmingham and a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.  Prior to joining Sinai, she has worked clinically as both a Nephrologist and Primary Care physician in the Philadelphia area for over 10 years. She was on faculty in the Division of Nephrology and served as an Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at Thomas Jefferson University from 2009-2013. Since joining Sinai Hospital, she has worked clinically as a general Internist.  Dr. Sharps served as the Program Director of Internal Medicine Residency Program from 2019-2024. She has served as a preceptor for Primary Care clerkships at both Johns Hopkins and George Washington Universities. Dr. Sharps is an active member of both national and the Maryland state chapters of the American College of Physicians, where she has been an invited speaker for both local and national meetings.
