Yoosif Abdalla M.B.Ch.B, MD, FACP, FASN, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Renal Disease and Hypertension at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He is the Director of Critical Care Nephrology and Director of Point of Care Ultrasound in Nephrology.
Dr. Abdalla received his medical degree M.B.Ch.B, from the Garyounis- Al-Arab Medical University, Libya. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. After a brief tenure as a Hospitalist at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center, went on to complete a Nephrology Fellowship at Geisinger Medical center, where he served as the Chief fellow. He also completed an additional fellowship in Critical Care Medicine. He obtained a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with emphasis in Marketing and Leadership from W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University. Dr. Abdalla was recognized by several accolades and awards from residents and fellows for clinical teaching and workshops
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of physicians, American society of Nephrology, a member of the American College of Chest physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Abdalla is an outstanding clinician with expertise in acute kidney injury, critical care medicine, kidney replacement therapies including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapies (CRRT), Slow Extended Dialysis (SLED), Ultrafiltration, Cardio renal syndrome, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and point of care ultrasound in the care of critically ill patients.
